In addition to her entrepreneurial adventures, Charly is known to love a challenge.
In 2018 she completed her first full Ironman triathlon, finishing in 13 hours 50 minutes. Charly regularly runs marathons, has cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise money for Survivors Manchester, and has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, trekked the Inca Trail and trekked to Everest Base Camp. She completed the infamous Marathon des Sables in 2019 and has plans to swim the Channel in the next few years. In 2018, Charly represented Romania (where her mother was born) in the Roller Derby World Cup. Charly has played cricket at Lord’s and ski-raced for Cambridge University.
In 2017 Charly was Head Judge at the UK Blog Awards, recognising her achievements both as a blogger, and as a blog tutor for the Guardian. Charly has won a number of awards for her writing and entrepreneurship. She was selected to debate the existence of true love at the Oxford Union, and is an advisor at Regent’s University for their Media and Digital Communication Masters degree. In 2018 she was a runner up in the Women of the Future Awards.
